Documentation menu: MCP server (AI assistants)
Ask your AI assistant about your analytics
Connect theBizness.ai to claude.ai, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code over MCP (Model Context Protocol), then ask in plain English which channel makes money. Read-only, and lookups don't use AI credits.
claude.ai and ChatGPT: sign in, no token
claude.ai (and the Claude apps)
- Open Settings > Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it theBizness.ai and paste
https://thebizness.ai/api/mcpas the URL. - Choose Connect, sign in to theBizness.ai and allow read access.
ChatGPT
- In Settings, open Apps & Connectors and turn on developer mode under Advanced.
- Create a connector with
https://thebizness.ai/api/mcpas the MCP server URL and OAuth as the authentication. - Sign in to theBizness.ai when asked and allow read access.
Either app can be disconnected in Settings > API tokens, under Connected apps.
Coding tools: 1. Create a token
In the dashboard, open Settings > API tokens and create one. Copy it right away: it is shown once. A token reads every website on your account and can't change anything. Revoke it there at any time.
2. Add it to your tool
Claude Code
One command. Settings shows it with your token filled in.
claude mcp add --transport http thebizness https://thebizness.ai/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer tbz_your_token"Cursor
Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"thebizness": {
"url": "https://thebizness.ai/api/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer tbz_your_token" }
}
}
}VS Code (Copilot)
Add to .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"thebizness": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://thebizness.ai/api/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer tbz_your_token" }
}
}
}Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop runs local servers, so it connects through mcp-remote (needs Node.js). Add to claude_desktop_config.json and restart Claude:
{
"mcpServers": {
"thebizness": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://thebizness.ai/api/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:${AUTH}"],
"env": { "AUTH": "Bearer tbz_your_token" }
}
}
}Any other client that speaks MCP over HTTP works the same way: URL https://thebizness.ai/api/mcp, header Authorization: Bearer <token>, or OAuth sign-in for clients that support it (discovery at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource).
Ask
- Which traffic source made the most revenue this month?
- Compare last week with the week before. What changed?
- Which UTM campaign has the best conversion rate?
- Which pages get traffic but no sales?
Tools
- list_websites
- Your websites and their ids. Your assistant calls it first.
- get_summary
- Visitors, pageviews, revenue, orders and conversion rate for a period.
- get_breakdown
- Rows by traffic source, UTM source, medium or campaign, page, country, device or browser, with revenue.
- get_timeline
- Visitors, revenue and orders per day (per hour for two days or less).
- get_custom_events
- Your custom events with counts and visitors.
Periods are days on your website's clock (default: the last 30 days), revenue is in your reporting currency, and each token is limited to 120 calls a minute.
